Who we are

Julie Josephine AS, org. nr. 915 335 853, Frognerveien 4 B, 0257 Oslo, Norway ("we", "us") operates juliejosephine.com and our retail stores in Oslo (Frogner and CC Vest). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, which we process in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Norwegian Personal Data Act (personopplysningsloven).

What we collect

  • Contact and account details — name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, account login.
  • Order and payment information — items purchased, order history, payment method and transaction confirmation. We never see or store your full card number; payment is handled by our payment providers.
  • Saved favourites — if you create an account, the products you save to your wishlist are stored with it.
  • Customer service communications — emails and messages you send us.
  • Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser information, and how you use our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Marketing preferences — your newsletter subscription status and interactions with our emails.

Why we process it, and on what legal basis

  • Fulfilling your order (payment, delivery, returns, warranty) — contract, GDPR art. 6(1)(b).
  • Customer service, including occasional individual follow-up emails — contract and legitimate interest, art. 6(1)(f).
  • Your account and saved favourites — contract, art. 6(1)(b).
  • Bookkeeping and accounting records — legal obligation, art. 6(1)(c) and the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act.
  • Email marketing (newsletter) — consent, art. 6(1)(a) and the Norwegian Marketing Control Act. We email only people who signed up.
  • Analytics, site improvement and advertising — consent (cookies) and legitimate interest.
  • Fraud prevention and security — legitimate interest.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with processors and partners who help us run the store, under data processing agreements:

  • Shopify — e-commerce platform and hosting
  • Payment — Shopify Payments (card), Vipps, Klarna
  • Delivery — PostNord, Bring, Helthjem, Instabox, Porterbuddy, and UPS for international orders
  • Email marketing — Klaviyo
  • Analytics and advertising — Google Analytics and Google Ads; Meta (Facebook & Instagram), for our shopping catalogue and advertising; Tracklution, for conversion tracking
  • Product feed management — DataFeedWatch
  • Cookie consent management — Consentmo

We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some of our processors are located outside the EU/EEA (for example Shopify Inc. in Canada and the United States, and Google and Meta in the United States). Where data is transferred out of the EEA, the transfer is based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified) or on the Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Order and accounting records: 5 years, as required by the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act (bokføringsloven).
  • Customer accounts and saved favourites: as long as your account is active; deleted on request.
  • Marketing data: until you withdraw consent or unsubscribe.
  • Customer service correspondence: 2 years after our last contact with you.

Your rights

You can at any time, free of charge:

  • request access to the personal data we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate data;
  • request deletion ("right to be forgotten");
  • request restriction of processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal;
  • opt out of marketing via the unsubscribe link in any email.

Complaints

If you believe we process your personal data unlawfully, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority: Datatilsynet, Postboks 458 Sentrum, 0105 Oslo — www.datatilsynet.no. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.

Cookies

We use cookies to make the store function (cart, login, currency), to measure traffic through Google Analytics, and — with your consent — for marketing and conversion measurement through Google Ads, Meta and Tracklution. You can change your choices at any time in the cookie banner on our site or in your browser settings.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, is always available on this page.
