Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms before you order. Placing an order means you accept them.

Who we are
Julie Josephine AS, org. nr. 915 335 853, Frognerveien 4 B, 0257 Oslo, Norway ("Julie Josephine", "we", "us") operates the online store at juliejosephine.com.
You can reach us at customercare@juliejosephine.com, or by post at the address above.
What these terms cover
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of juliejosephine.com and every purchase you make through it. They apply to consumers buying for private use. Wholesale and business purchases are made under a separate agreement and are not covered here.
These terms, together with your order and our order confirmation, form the whole agreement between you and us for that purchase. Our Return Policy and Privacy Policy form part of it.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published when you place your order is the version that applies to it. Changes we make afterwards do not affect an order already placed.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under Norwegian law, in particular the Consumer Purchases Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven), the Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven) and the Marketing Control Act (markedsføringsloven). Where anything here conflicts with those rights, the law applies.
Placing an order
To order you need to be able to enter into a binding agreement. If you are under 18, you may only order with the consent of a parent or guardian, except for purchases you can lawfully make with your own means.
When you place an order you receive an automatic order confirmation by email. The agreement between us is formed when we send that confirmation.
All orders depend on availability. Occasionally an item shown as available turns out not to be, or an order contains an obvious pricing or description error. In those cases we may cancel the order, or the affected part of it, and we will tell you as soon as we can and refund you in full. Where an error is obvious and you could reasonably have recognised it as an error, we are not bound by the incorrect price.
We may also decline or cancel an order where we reasonably suspect fraud, where the order appears to be for resale, or where we are unable to deliver to the address given.
Prices and VAT
Prices are shown in Norwegian kroner and are the prices in force at the time you order. We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order already confirmed.
For deliveries within Norway, all prices include 25% VAT (merverdiavgift).
For deliveries outside Norway, customs duty and import VAT are calculated and included in the total you pay at checkout. There is nothing further to pay when the parcel arrives.
Should this change for a destination, the checkout total will say so before you confirm your order, and any duty not collected there is payable by you to the carrier or the customs authority on delivery. If you refuse a parcel rather than pay charges properly due on delivery, we may deduct the outward and return carriage from your refund.
Payment
We accept payment by card (Visa and Mastercard) through Shopify Payments, by Vipps, and through Klarna.
Klarna's services are provided by Klarna Bank AB and are subject to Klarna's own terms, which you accept during checkout. Where you pay by Klarna invoice or instalments, your agreement about payment is with Klarna, not with us. Klarna processes your personal data under its own privacy notice.
When you pay by card, the full order amount is authorised on your card when you order and charged when your order is dispatched. An authorisation reserves the amount without taking it; if an order is cancelled, the reservation is released by your bank, which usually takes between one and seven days.
Title to the goods passes to you when we have received payment in full.
Shipping and delivery
We deliver to Norway, to Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and to the United States and Japan.
Shipping options and costs are shown at checkout before you confirm your order. Domestic orders are carried by Helthjem, Instabox and our other Norwegian partners. International orders are carried by UPS.
We dispatch orders within one to three business days. After dispatch, delivery normally takes:
- Norway: 1 to 2 business days
- Europe: 3 to 5 business days
- United States and Japan: 5 to 7 business days
These are estimates, not guarantees. Delivery can take longer during sale periods, holidays, and where a parcel is held in customs. If delivery has not happened within 30 days of your order, and the delay is our responsibility, you may set a reasonable additional deadline and cancel the purchase if we miss it.
Risk of loss or damage passes to you when you, or someone you have nominated, takes physical possession of the goods. A parcel lost in transit before that point is our responsibility, so tell us and we will resolve it.
It is your responsibility to give a complete and correct delivery address and to collect a parcel from a pickup point within the carrier's holding period. Where a parcel is returned to us uncollected, we refund the goods but not the outward shipping.
Pre-orders
Where an item is sold as a pre-order, the expected dispatch window is stated on the product page. Pre-orders are charged at the time of ordering. If the expected date moves materially, we will tell you and you may cancel the pre-order for a full refund. Your right of withdrawal begins when you receive the item, not when you order it.
Your right to change your mind (angrerett)
As a consumer you have a statutory right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason. This is separate from, and in addition to, your rights if something is faulty.
The period. The 14 days run from the day you, or someone you nominate, receive the goods. Where an order is delivered in more than one parcel, the period runs from the day you receive the last item.
How to use it. Tell us before the 14 days are up. You can use the standard cancellation form, or send any other clear statement to customercare@juliejosephine.com saying that you are withdrawing from the purchase. Starting a return in your account also counts. It is enough that you send your message before the deadline.
Sending the goods back. Return the goods to us without undue delay, and in any case within 14 days of telling us. You pay the cost of return shipping, unless the return is because the item is faulty or we sent the wrong thing.
Your refund. We refund what you paid for the goods, together with the standard delivery charge you paid on the original order. Where you chose an express or otherwise more expensive delivery method, we refund the cost of our cheapest standard option, not the premium. We refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive the goods back, or after you show us proof that you have sent them, whichever comes first. Refunds go to the payment method you used.
Condition. You may examine and try on an item as you would in a shop. You are liable for any reduction in its value caused by handling beyond that, and we may deduct that reduction from your refund.
Exceptions. The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, or to sealed goods that are not suitable for return for reasons of health or hygiene where the seal has been broken after delivery.
Returns and exchanges
Alongside your statutory right above, we accept returns of items bought at juliejosephine.com within 14 days of receipt, in the condition you received them and with tags attached.
To start a return, log in to your account, open the order, select the items and give a reason. Once we approve the request you receive an email with a link to create your return label. Write your order number on the parcel.
Keep your proof of postage. We cannot take responsibility for a return parcel lost on its way to us where you cannot show it was sent.
We do not offer direct exchanges. Return the item and place a new order.
Full details are in our Return Policy.
Faulty or incorrect items
If an item is faulty, damaged in transit, or not what you ordered, you have rights under the Consumer Purchases Act. Depending on the circumstances you may require repair or replacement, a price reduction, a refund, or cancellation of the purchase.
Please inspect your order when it arrives and tell us at customercare@juliejosephine.com, with your order number in the subject line, within a reasonable time after you discover the problem. That period is never shorter than two months from the day you discovered it. Your right to complain lasts for two years from the day you received the item.
Where a complaint is justified, we cover the cost of returning the item and of getting a replacement to you.
We cannot accept a complaint about an item that has been altered, laundered against its care instructions, or otherwise modified after delivery, or about wear and tear from normal use.
Product images, colours and availability
We photograph our garments carefully, but screens differ and a colour or texture on your device may not match the fabric exactly. Measurements given are approximate and may vary slightly between garments. These variations are not defects.
We may change or discontinue styles, colours, sizes and fabrics at any time, and may withdraw products from the website.
Discount codes and promotions
Discount codes are valid for the period and on the terms stated when the code is issued. Unless we say otherwise, one code applies per order, codes cannot be combined, and they have no cash value. We may withdraw a code where it is being used in a way it was not intended for. A code applied to an order that is later returned is not reissued.
Your account
If you create an account, keep your login details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has them. You are responsible for what happens through your account. We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms.
Using this website

You may view the site and print or download individual pages for your own private, non-commercial use, keeping any copyright notices intact. You may not otherwise copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, modify, distribute or use our material, including for training or generating content, or imitate the look of the site, without our written permission. Downloading or printing material gives you no ownership of it.
Do not use the site in a way that damages it, interferes with anyone else's use of it, or breaks the law.
Our liability
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this agreement or failing to use reasonable care.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, strikes, carrier or postal disruption, failure of public networks, or acts of government. Where such an event occurs we will tell you and, if the delay is substantial, you may cancel and be refunded for anything not delivered.
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under Norwegian law, including your rights under the Consumer Purchases Act and the Right of Withdrawal Act.
Complaints and disputes
If something has gone wrong, write to customercare@juliejosephine.com and we will try to sort it out.
If we cannot agree, you may bring the matter to the Norwegian Consumer Council, Forbrukerrådet, which mediates consumer disputes free of charge, and which can refer an unresolved case to the Consumer Complaints Board (Forbrukerklageutvalget). Forbrukerrådet: www.forbrukerradet.no, telephone 23 400 500.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and any purchase made under them are governed by Norwegian law.
Disputes may be brought before Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett). This does not take away your right, as a consumer, to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, or to rely on the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country.
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest continue to apply.
