It started with “the perfect white tee”. Inspired to perfect this simple piece, we challenged ourselves to see how much care and attention could go into every detail. This focus led us to find ways to perfect every step of the process. We took the term ‘essential’ literally, and explored it. Staples like this are the foundation of our wardrobe. Their beauty lies in simplicity, hidden in plain sight.
With this mindset, Julie Josephine organically grew to become a full collection and fashion label, founded by Julie Josephine Blystad in 2016. We favor simplicity, functionality, and longevity; and elevate at every opportunity. Can classics make a difference? We believe making (and owning) fewer things of much higher quality can have a positive environmental impact. We design each piece in an iconic silhouette and create them to withstand whims, trends, and wear. We discovered the more thoughtfully we made a garment, the more it could be worn with ease.
